"I'll be dead by then." She said, NOT in a joking tone.
"Is there something you're not telling me?" I laughed. "And now, after all the relatives are gone? Good timing." I laughed. She turned and smiled. With Melba, a lot of questions are either rhetorical questions or met with 'I don't know' as the answer.
I see her and Jim 3 times a week so we've discussed this sort of thing before. "Well Mom," I replied, not showing the full impact of my emotions at the prospect of my own mother saying she'd be dead within 2 years, "There is a chance you could fall and break a hip and die shortly after that." I said, half tongue-in-cheek.
"Really?" she replied. "I'll have to try that."
In this context, if she does die before the next reunion we could look into having the funeral double as another reunion. If it's winter, they have great cross-country trails. If it's autumn... You get the idea.
The Riverview Lodge holds up to 140 and has an industrial kitchen. I've heard from several that it would be even better if we had been in one spot for those that weren't sure about where what game was playing.
I went to a reunion of 155 and the kitchen feature was great. We could do Breakfast and Dinner and have cold lunch stuff for those that just want to play games.

It was duscussed even before Estes Park gathering was over that we need a central meeting place for games and meals. We would try to secure the Lee Sapp Riverview Lodge that seats 140 and has a kitchen that can feed us all. it's $200-$275/day. I think we can all agree this could be the best for games, cheaper and easier than catering or cooking in 5 places, and fun!

We'll try to get a location where we can be together. If we get the Lee Sapp Riverview Lodge, we'd shoot for Margre Village. The cabins sleep from 7 to 20. The lodge has rooms with 2 double beds from $96 and up.

We can only reserve one year in advance so we'll decide a date in 2014 and then watch for that date in 2013 on cabins 42 to 52. If they're not on the list at that time, they've been booked so book as soon as possible
